Bruce Lee 75th Birthday Giveaway
27 November 2015 marks Bruce Lee's 75 birthday. Unfortunately, I can't give him a birthday present; but I can give away some more of my own work, which explores his impact and importance in multiple spheres and contexts.
So, first, if you follow this link, you will come to a PDF of my 2013 book, Beyond Bruce Lee: Chasing the Dragon through Film, Philosophy and Popular Culture. If you can't see the link, paste the following into your internet browser:
The website (academia.edu) may cause a popup to appear, asking you to register. I think you can dismiss this popup and access the work anyway; or alternatively you can just register. It's no bad thing to register because academia.edu gives you access to a huge quantity of academic work that people have shared for free. So I would actually recommend signing up.
Of course, the impact and importance of Bruce Lee always relates to film. And as well as his own films, there are a number of good documentaries about him. One of the most recent was I am Bruce Lee. I pop up in this film once or twice, and it seems possible to view the entire film quite freely, if you follow this link:
While we're on the subject, I may as well also reiterate that the first book I wrote about Bruce Lee, Theorizing Bruce Lee, published in 2010, is also freely available online, here:
Along with Theorizing Bruce Lee (2010) and Beyond Bruce Lee (2013), you can also access most of my other articles and papers on Bruce Lee here:
Of course, there are many other publications and programmes about Bruce Lee out there in the world, but I wanted to give mine away for his birthday.
So, here's to Bruce Lee - the first 75 years!
