RIP Ernesto Laclau

I have woken up this morning to news that Ernesto Laclau has died. Laclau was a great political theorist, whose work informed the equally sadly late great Stuart Hall and hence the entire theoretical bedrock of cultural studies. I wrote about Laclau's work at some length in my first monograph, here, but it has informed all of my subsequent work too. Needless to say, perhaps, I am extremely sad to hear of the passing of another great theorist of the academic and intellectual left, especially one to whom I owe such a significant intellectual debt.
